Yacht Charter in Arona, Tenerife, Spain

Located in the Canary Islands archipelago, Arona is the main tourist destination of the southern part of Tenerife island. Santa Cruz, the island`s capital, is not even 60 kilometres from Arona, making it both a secluded holiday destination and a potentially more dynamic and adventurous vacation location. Why choose Arona ?

With more than 10 kilometres of beaches, Arona also boasts spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The Canaries are ideal for all those seeking enriching encounters with crystal clear seas, golden white sands, lush green vegetation, elevated mountain tops and rich local culture, all ready to give themselves to willing seafarers. This is why making Arona the main base, from which one could explore the whole of Tenerife, is a good idea.

What to do and see on your yacht charter in Arona ?

There are four areas in Arona every visitor must see and experience. Playa de las Américas is charged with maintaining a high standard of excellence regarding beautiful beaches, pristine waters and a wide range of water sport facilities. Los Cristianos is a charming small town and the main hub for shopping, with its busy harbour receiving and releasing many boats and yachts. Los Cristianos is also where most of the cultural manifestations take place, like the festival of San Antonio, which incorporates traditional dancing, parade and fireworks. The coastline of Las Galletas-Costa del Silencio is an excellent spot to dive and snorkel, because of the thriving sea life found around these waters. The rural part of Arona is inland and it provides an altogether different approach to vacationing. The wider area of Arona also encompasses Parque Las Aguilas, containing a botanical garden and a small zoo.

Sailing season - When to charter in Arona ?

If you are on a budget, the best time to visit Arona would be in the summer, because this is the time when prices for accommodations and services drop dramatically. From April to October it can get really hot, which makes the cool sea even more inviting. Besides summer, spring and autumn are also the best in line to sail to the Canary Islands. From December to January, it is still possible to thoroughly enjoy hot days on the beach, or a long swim, with winters in Tenerife being particularly mild and without much rain or wind.
