Playa de las Américas is charged with maintaining a high standard of excellence regarding beautiful beaches, pristine waters and a wide range of water sport facilities. Los Cristianos is a charming small town and the main hub for shopping, with its busy harbour receiving and releasing many boats and yachts. Los Cristianos is also where most of the cultural manifestations take place, like the festival of San Antonio, which incorporates traditional dancing, parade and fireworks. Sailing season - When to charter in Arona ?

If you are on a budget, the best time to visit Arona would be in the summer, because this is the time when prices for accommodations and services drop dramatically. From April to October it can get really hot, which makes the cool sea even more inviting. Besides summer, spring and autumn are also the best in line to sail to the Canary Islands. From December to January, it is still possible to thoroughly enjoy hot days on the beach, or a long swim, with winters in Tenerife being particularly mild and without much rain or wind.
