Why choose Jezera?

Jezera has a long history, since this area was populated from antiquity. The name comes from two fresh water sources, the same resources that made this part of the island so popular to original Greek and Roman settlers. Jezera is known to be one of the strongest fishing centres in central Dalmatia - this is where visitors flock, from Murter and beyond, to get their hands on the freshest and most delicious Adriatic fish. Jezera are accessible by car, because a drawbridge connects the island of Murter with the Croatian mainland. This accessibility does not hinder the attraction Jezera possesses to any sailor wishing to discover it`s waters. On the contrary, many people who come by car are left with limited options for exploring, whilst those who charter boats have endless possibilities for exploration and adventure around Jezera.

Sailing season - When to charter in Jezera?

The best time to visit Jezera, if you are planning on doing a lot of swimming, would be between July and September. This means you will be visiting in the peak of the summer season and crowd and high prices will be a common thing. On the other hand, the sea will be warm enough to spend hours in it, enjoying the sun`s rays and the summer’s atmosphere. Those who rent a boat will have more freedom to move beyond the crowd infested beaches and to find peace and quiet among numerous bays and coves around Jezera. After the summer season ends, the temperatures are still warm, but the masses of people disperse and the prices plummet, meaning this is the best time to visit for those sailors wanting to enjoy the serenity of the Adriatic. Another good idea would be to visit with the start of Spring, but bear in mind that, despite the general lack of tourists, this is for a reason, because the sea is not as nearly as warm during the summer, and a quick dip will be reserved only for the most strong-hearted.
